    Bollywood
For those Bollywood fan friends of mine, the Brookdale discount theater is now showing both Bollywood and Telugu (no idea what this is) movies.

    No more stolen (yet)
So we haven't had any more incidents yet.

I spoke with a detective and they siad that they would keep an extra eye on the vacant property. My neighbor went an cut down more of the shrubs that were hiding that area of the property (he is buying it soon), so hopefully that will help.

As a note, the detective told me that the fingerprints will be a while. The last time she checked the crime lab was working on prints from OCTOBER. I knew it would take time, I didn't expect 8 months.

    Neighbor
The bastards hit my neighbor's shed last night. Maybe with three incidents in a week the police will have some drive by a few times.

    ARGH! (house break ins)
Our house has been broken into twice this week. They took most of our alcohol the first time the other night. Today they took the rest of the alcohol plus my bike and all of my power tools. We found the bike, a couple of bottles of wine, and 1/3 of my power tools stashed in a vacant building's shed. We have a theory on one of the neighbor kids, but no way to prove it (though the cops did get some good prints off of the alcohol bottles, so I can hope he has a record if it is him).

Worst part is we were home both times. We were sleeping the first, and today it was mid-afternoon and I was working from home and [info]ariadani was sewing.

So...no more boozin at our place and I am off to load my shotgun and research security systems.

(As a side note, the Hennepin County Sherriff's crime lab deputy that came to take prints had the same sticker as my LJ icon on her lab equipment).

    And now I can't sleep.
I am really tired of all of this hurting crap. It needs to be over with. Soon.

Oh - and someone broke into our breezeway and stole 90% of our liquor. Probably about $300 worth. They left the wine and the whiskey (so I assume it was kids). On top of the rest of my "to dos" (that I am feeling even more like crap because I have been home for 3 weeks and haven't been able "to do" any of them) will be somehow making cabinets or something that locks for the liquor. I am really tempted to get some more, lace it with ipecac, and leave it out there.

I go to Nashville (actually a little north of Nashville) for a mini family reunion on Sunday. I have a feeling I am just going to be sitting around a lot. I will probably bring my work computer and try and get some work done. I has been hard to get things done because I can't focus. I even tried doing fun things like redesign the TS website, but I just can't stick with anything to get past 15 minutes or so at a time.

    Tired of it
I am tired of being laid up. My back pain switched to the other side. I will probably have to go in for an MRI sometime in the next week. Never have I wanted to exercise so much as when I can't. I have wanted to ride my bike almost every day this week. Even with the painkillers, the pain would be too much to do that.

I also ended up having to leave a party early last night because of the pain. I was only there for half of it, and I am sure that I missed some fun times. I also wasn't very social, so it was a good party, but I feel that had I been better, it could have been much more (or at least had I taken a nap yesterday).

I have been sleeping a lot, but I am still always tired. I really hope this ends soon so I can get my life on track.

    Downsides of CON
One of the downsides of CONvergence is the realization, no matter how much fun you had, how much you missed due to limitations of temporal physics. At least you can see some of them in pictures afterward.

    CONvergence 2009
I had a pretty good time at CONvergence this year. I saw some programming, some Harmonic Convergence, and saw some people I haven't seen...well...since last year (or longer).

I didn't make it to the parties very much since I couldn't drink much alcohol because of the pain meds. I hear I missed some fun in the Romulan Consulate room.

I did take care of (or at least get the ball rolling) on one of the two "akward" situations from my past. The other one may have some progress as well, but I wasn't ever able to talk to the person.

    Already pre-reged for 2010.

    OH! My lombego!
I have been laid up for almost two weeks now. I have a pinched nerve in my lower back that makes it feel like my left calf is numb and on fire, all at the same time.

I have been on Vicodin and moved up to Percaset today. It is finally cutting through the pain enough that I was able to help clean up in time for our one-night houseguests who are in two for CONvergence. I am also in Physical Therapy to try and fix the issue without having to get an MRI and some sort of procedure. So far the PT seems to be making things better. I have two weeks left and I hope to be all better by then.

This means that my CON experience may be more limited to the main areas (fewer walks around the cabanas, or at least staying over there for a while once I am there). I hope to attend actual programming this year (http://schedule.convergence-con.org/earnan).

I am not staying at the hotel, so I will be making the 25 minute trek back and forth every day. I also have to work tomorrow (I have to make up for being out all last week!), so I won't be there until likely Opening Ceremonies.

I will have my cell phone, so feel free to text me if anyone cares to hang out. And I mean anyone. There are two people that I have had bad relationship issues with in the past and I want to try and get past them this year, but it is really up to them if they want to talk to me or not.

Ok, I took my happy pills (sadly, they don't really do much to my mental state - the people who get a high off of these must have a higher dosage than I do), so i am off to stretch and go to bed.

    Government Fail
PITTSBURGH — The government will begin taking land from seven property owners so that the Flight 93 memorial can be built in time for the 10th anniversary of the 2001 terrorist attacks, the National Park Service said. )

What a horrible way to "honor" the people lost because of people who fear our freedom and ability to create our own success.

Oh, and if you don't know what eminent domain is, you should read about it.

    GT?
My company does volunteer things throughout the twin cities.

Today I went to Feed My Starving Children in Brooklyn Park (5 blocks from my house in fact).

The short version is that Cargill and General Mills came up with a easy to make and inexpensive combination of food items (a chicken powder with vitamins, dehydrated veggies, soy, and rice).

This organization purchases the items and has a warehouse. They have volunteer groups come in to measure the items out, put them in 6 serving bags, and box them for shipment to 3rd world countries.

It is actually pretty social and fun. People work around the tables doing the different parts of getting the food packets ready to go.

So, I was thinking that there are a bunch of people that I have not seen in a while...the old Tims/Half Time Rec crowd, the old #batcave bunch, Rocky people, etc. I bet we could come up with 20 people to get together, chat, and put food packets together for an hour and a half, then maybe head out or back to my place to hang out for a while.

Thoughts? Would anyone be up to it? Shift times are between 9:30am and 9:30pm M-F.

    Plans for the day
So my plans for the day are going to dinner at Kierans with my Dad then to the Walker to see Hunger" (about Bobby Sands' hunger strike) then probably back to Kierans for some music since my car will be there.

    Typical Day
I am trying to figure out how/where to get time and energy to get more things done in the world. I have a side job that I am behind on and there are countless things on the "to-do" list for the house. Even keeping up with chores can seem to be difficult a lot of days. If the internet wants to chip in, feel free.

    Typical Work Day:
Wake up (between 6am and 7:30am depending on the day, if I am bussing/driving/telecommuting, etc.)
Computer (a.k.a. groggy daze) ~15-30 minutes
    Shower and shave: ~30 minutes
    Get ready: ~20 minutes
    - So almost an hour and a half before I am out the door.
If I drive to work it is ~45 minutes. If I bus it is ~ 75 minutes.
Then I work, usually eat lunch at my desk, rarely work out during my lunch, and come home.
I leave work (again depending on transportation method and work needs) between 3:30 and 6.
So I get home typcially between 5 and 7.
    I usually computer for 30 - 60 minutes
Then I cook dinner ~1 hour (most nights).
Then I try and get some things done and get some relaxation time in and suddenly it is after 11 and I should have already been in bed. And there is still a huge list of stuff that needs to get done sometime.

Getting home at 5 (or even 7) and having only an hour and half "used" seems like I should have tons of time, but it just disappears.

    And another kitten
We realized that Steve (click for pictures) really needed a companion. We had hoped to get another of his litter mates, but they ended up staying with the first person who took them.

So I went to the Humane Society on Friday and picked up my new little princess, Molly (click for pictures).

She is the same age as Steve and is quite fuzzy (though her litter mates looked almost exactly like Steve).

We kept them apart for a few days and started letting them be around each other yesterday afternoon. They play fought almost constantly. We separated them a few times and kept them apart during the night (much to their sadness!).

Today they have been together all day. They have played a lot, but they slept and even cuddled during nap time.

As happy as they make all of us, I did tell [info]ariadani that we can't get a new kitten every week. :)

[info]ariadani is off to pick up one (or maybe two) kittens.
